Today one our engineers fitted inspection hatches, due to a gas regulation stating all boiler flues should be accessible during inspection. During a Gas Safety Check and engineer needs to visually see the seals of a boiler flue to check if any are broken which potentially leak CO, which is very dangerous. Sometimes flue can be hidden using boxing for cosmetic purposes, however if we cannot inspect the flue we would never know if they were leaking co. For this particular property boxing was used to hide the flue, but we had to issue a warning notice as by Gas Safe standard all boiler flues should be accessible We informed the landlord and they requested us to fit inspection hatches. As you can see they were professional fitted from the image below:
Our qualified Home Energy Inspectors are licensed to undertake domestic surveys in accordance with legislation and produce the report in both electronic and paper forms.
